Christmas Countdown Wreath
For the last weeks of school, we are doing a Christmas Countdown. Teachers made four options for us, in each option, there are three different levels. We have to try to get all of the activities done. One of the activities was to design a Christmas Wreath. There were three levels in the activity. I did the one were you can try and make our own.

Whetu Survivor Fire
This week we are celebrating our Whetu Survivor. In the first block, we did three activities. Orienteering, Fire, and Cooking. For the fire, you had to get into your groups. There were two things that you got to do. One of them was setting up a fire and the other one was having a go at trying to make a spark out of flint and steel. My group went to flint and steel. I got the flint and steel to spark lots of times. When everyone had their turn in my group, we went to set up a fire. We had to wait for the other group to finish their's and then we had our turn. When every group had finished what they were doing we tried to start a fire but it didn't work because the wind was too strong.
Whetu Survivor Orienteering
This week we are celebrating our Whetu Survivor. In the first block, we did three activities. Orienteering, Fire, and Cooking. For the Orienteering, we got a map and piece off paper to write our letters on that we wore looking for. The map we got was a map of the school. On the map there wore orange markers that we had to work out where they were and then look around them for a letter. When we found all the letters we read a joke and work out what the joke was by unscrambling the letters. The joke was "What do bears call campers in their sleeping bags." When you unscramble the words you get the word Burritos. We did these activities in homerooms.

Term 4 Fabulous Finish
This is my Term 4 Fabulous Finish that I did. I did Coach Brody. In the background, I did his name and two taxis. I did the taxis because Coach is also a taxi driver. I did Coach Brody's name in the background but I only did Coach because I didn't have enough room to fit it in. For the sky, I tried to blend the two blues and the same with the grass. On Coach, I made his hands flap and drew a medal because he won a medal but his Dad took it from him. On his hat, I wrote what his dream was to be. His dream was to run in the Olympics. With the clipboard that he is holding, I made it flap and under it, I wrote what street he grew up on. The hardest part was drawing coach and coloring him. I made one mistake with him but you can't really see it because it is small. I drew hair on him but I wasn't meant to because he has no hair except for his eyebrows. The easiest was drawing Coach's name.

Knot number 3 Reef Knot
For the past weeks, we have been doing a Whetu survival challenge. This week the Knowledge Seekers have been learning how to tye different knots. We have also been mastering them and then knowing what they're really good for. I did the Reef knot. A Reef knot is used to secure a sling in first aid because it sits flat and easy to adjust and unite. When double slipped, it is the knot that most of us use to tie shoe lacers. I rate this a 2/5 because it gets really easy when you get it.

For the past weeks, we have been doing a Whetu survival challenge. This week the Knowledge Seekers have been learning how to tye different knots. We have also been mastering them and then knowing what they're really good for. I rate this knot a 2/5 because it got really easy for me.

Knot number 1 Figure 8
For the past weeks, we have been doing a Whetu survival challenge. This week the Knowledge Seekers have been learning how to tye different knots. We have also been mastering them and then knowing what they're really good for. I did the Figure 8 knot. The figure 8 knot is strong and good for mountain climbing. I would rate the difficulty 1/5 because when you know you to do it properly you can do it with your eyes shut. I gave it a 1/5 because I practiced and practiced, then I eventually I got it.

Tent Building
I wasn't here when my troop put up the tent but they told me what they did good and what they could have done better.
One thing we could have done better was talking to each other and where to put the poles.
One thing we did well was knowing what the things are and where they go.
Something that I learned was that if you don't put in the right poles in the right place your tent won't go up.

Chapter Chat A Way With Words
This is my week 4 term 4 Chapter Chat that I work on by my self. I did a Way With Words. I had to do an acrostic poem for Ghost. This term we are reading a new book called Ghost. The main character is Castle Cranshaw, his nickname is Ghost. His favorite sport is basketball. Ghost is a really fast runner but he is not that interested in running himself. There is a running team for the town that he lives in and it is called the defenders running group. The coach of that team is Brody Otis. He has two jobs. One of the jobs he has is coaching the defenders running group, the other job he has is a Cab driver. The hardest part was thinking of sentences for the letters. The easiest part was writing Ghost.Wednesday, November 6, 2019
Whetu Survivor Challenge =['Shelter
The best place to build a shelter depends on the surroundings. If you are in a place with poisonous bugs or snakes you would want to get to high ground and try to make sure nothing can get in but you can still get out.
The materials you will need to make a shelter are a tarp, rope, and some of the things that are around you like sticks, leaves, soft ground and lost of leaves for covering your shelter for extra protection from the rain.
Some cons of having a bush shelter are that if you haven't got enough protection and it rains you could get really wet. A pro for having a bush shelter is that it can protect you from wild animals

My Holiday Recap
In the first week of the holidays, I went to Rotorua for a hockey tournament for 3 days and 2 nights. I stayed in a cabin with just Oscar. The first game that we played we won 12-0. We played against Taupo. We ended up coming 3rd in the whole tournament. When prizegiving finished my Dad my brother and I all went to the Red Woods forest. Oscar's family came with us as well. On the way home from Rotorua we stop in Matamata and got KFC for dinner. Then it was about an hour's drive back home. The next morning we went to the farm and mowed silage. That took all day and by the time we got back is was almost time for dinner. In the second week of the holidays, Dad had to stack bales so Ryan and I went to our Nana's. The first day we went there we played some board games and went out for lunch. On the second day, we were there, we went to the movie and watched Aboniabal. After that, we went to the Miranda hot pools. On the last day of the holidays wen went fishing. We went out to Wikaua and lunched at that boat ramp. My brother caught the first fish. It was a yellowtail. I was the first one to catch a keeper snapper. It was 48 cm. That day we didn't catch much. We caught about 4 fish. For dinner that night we have fish. That was my holiday. One bad thing about those holidays is that my lamb lucky died.

Fabulous Finish W9 T3
This is my fabulous finish that I did with Logan. I help him with the plan but I didn't do the good copy because I was away in Queenstown. When we were doing the plan I thought that it was going to be really hard to get all the stuff that you need to have for it.

W5 T3 Research Center
This is my week 5 research that I did by my self. It is what you will need to survive in any sort of situation. I also added a few tips to stay alive. This part relates to the story when Stanley and Zero are out in the desert going to god's thumb. The hardest part was doing the bag. The easiest part was writing everything. I did this on google drawing. Zero ran away first and then a few days later Stanley went after him. Before Zero ran away he whacked Mr. Pendacesky one the councilours on the head with a shovel then he said: "I'm not digging any more holes and ran off." At Camp Green Lake you have to dig holes. The Warden of Camp Green Lake says that digging holes makes you a better person. When Stanley went off to find him he tried to drive the water truck but he drove it into a hole. Stanley started to walk to go find Zero. He found him in a wrecked ship that said, Mary Lou. Zero had dug a hole under the ship and he made that his home. For water, he had been drinking sploosh. When Stanley and Zero started walking zero got really sick from the sploosh.

Week 3 Chapter Chat Term 3 Digital Design

This is my week three-term three Chapter Chat. I worked on it by myself. It is some make up that ha an evil twist. The makeup on the right has snake venom with some scorpion blood in it. For the one on the left, I did lots of them and I added the case that the Warden from our story keeps her makeup in. This term we are reading a book called Holes. The Warden of Camp Green Lake is a girl. When you come into Camp Green Lake there is a little hut. There is a man called Mr. Sir. Stanley the main character got sent there for stealing a famous baseball players pair of shoes. When Stanley was digging a hole Mr. Sit came with a water truck to fill up their canteens. When Mr. Sir was filling up their canteens one of the members called Magnet stole his sunflower seeds. He used to smoke but now he eats sunflower seeds. When Mr. Sir drove off they started eating the sunflower seeds. Stanley was last to eat them. X-Ray, another member throws the sack to Stanley. He drops it into his hole. All the sunflower seeds spilled in Stanley's hole. Then Mr. Sir came back and said: "Have any of you seen my sunflower seeds." Stanley owned up for it. Then Mr. Sir told Stanley to get in the water truck. Mr. Sir took Stanley to the Warden. Mr. Sir told the warden what happened and then the Warden told Stanley to go through that door and get the white case with the red roses on it. Stanley brought the case to the Warden and she got out some nail polish. The Warden put some on her hand and slapped Mr. Sir across the face with it. The nail polish has snake venom in it. So that is why I'm doing this activity.

W2 T3 CC Way Of Words
This is my week 2 term 3 way of words Chapter Chat that I did by myself. It is when Stanley wrote a letter home for his Mum, about how he is going at Camp Green Lake in our book that we are reading, Holes. The one that Stanley wrote was one he made up. I did that one and the one about what he has actually been doing and how Camp Green Lake is. On the one that he made up, I kept it clean and no wrinkles. On the proper one, I put blood stains on it and wrinkled it up. On the one that Stanley made up, he put "I have just finished my first swimming test and soon I am going to learn how to water ski. On the proper one what really happened was. "I have just finished my first hole." Because at Camp Green Lake you dig holes. It is a place for naughty boys. They dig holes because they think that it would make the boys a better person and to be good. On the letter that Stanley made up, he was hanging out in the rec room. The rec room "had" a working t.v, pool table, a pinball machine, and a fosse ball table.

Week 1 Term 3 CC

This week I did a creation station with Patrick. We work together to make a Camp Green Lake sign from the book that we are reading, holes. This part relates to the because when Stanley Yelnats the main character comes to camp green lake because he stole a pair of shoes. Camp green lake isn't green and there is no lake. Bad kids get sent there. Stanley had the choice of going to Camp Green Lake or jail, so he chose Camp Green lake and said. "Well, at least I get to swim in the lake." But there is no lake. So he got on the bus and went to camp green lake. When he got there there was a sign saying. "You are entering Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correctional Facility." So that is were me and Patrick did the sign from. Patrick brought a big cardboard box so we could cut out and use the cardboard. First, we cut out the square for the background. Second, we got some brown and white paint, mixed them together and got a really light brown for dead grass and desert. Then we got some normal brown and pantied the trunk of the two oak trees. When we finished doing the trunk we got some green and did the leaves. We waited for that to dry then we got out some blue and white paint, mixed them together and got a light blue for the sky. When the sky dried we painted a little hammock in between the two oak trees. We also painted the sun. With the leftover cardboard, we cut up some little pieces to make the sign. Patrick hot glued the pieces together and then we painted the sign brown. With some little pieces of string, we hot glued them onto the cardboard and then we put the sign onto the background. When the sign was on the background Patrick wrote on it "You are entering Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correctional Facility." After the sign was done we were finished and that was how we made our sign.

Week 9 Fabulous finish
This is Ally the main character in our book that we have just finished. I worked on it with Sam. We did two Alls, one of the Allys is at the start of the book when she was not fitting in, and she had dyslexia. We did all dark colors for the first Ally because it was her at the start of the book. The other Ally we did was close to the finish when she was standing up for her self. We did all light colors because she is more active than what she was at the start of the book. The hardest part was cutting out the Allys. The two Allys are on springs and this was the other hardest part. It took me a while to figure out how to make them. We keep trying to do it with the single ones but they didn't work so I went on google and google "How to make paper springs" and it came up with a good idea. First, you get two strips of paper. When you have the strips of paper you put one on top of the other and then you get folding them on top of each other. Then when you have done that you are finished.

W7 CC
This is my W7 CC. It is a flying fish. It is in part of the book were Ally said she will set the world on fire but that is impossible, so they showed some impossible things that would never happen and one of them was a flying fish, so I did that. I did it by myself. The hardest part was drawing the fish and the easiest was drawing the tree. I sharped the fish so it would stand out more because it is the main part of the whole thing.

CC W4 2019
This is my comet strip of the main sense that has happened. The first one I did was when Ally went to Shays birthday and she squished a butterfly. The second one I did was when Ally found out that Shay charges her friends for friendship bracelets. Then the third one I did was when Ally meets Mr. Danils. I did it by myself. It took me quite a while because I have to make sure I didn't screw it up, then I would have to rub it out and do it again. The hardest part was drawing all of the people. The easiest part was drawing the speech bubbles and writing the words in them.

CC W4 2019
This is my week 4 Chapter Chat that I did with Patrick, we made a trophy for Ally. In one part of the book Ally, the main character said a good answer and Ally's teacher Mr. Danils said: "If there was a trophy for the best answer I would give it to you, Ally." So I and Patrick made this. We started by finding a box to stick a stick on to. Then we glued the stick to the box and found a cup. We put a hole in the cup and stuck the cup to it. Then we painted it all yellow, we put the card on and wrote the words. Then we put the handles on and then it was done.

Topic: School uniform
I believe that all schools should wear school uniform……
First of all, you could get lost and you are not wearing the same clothes, you could blend in with a different parent but if you’re wearing a school uniform that looks the same as every else they would be able to find and see you clearly...
For example, you go on a school trip somewhere and you get lost because you’re not wearing the
same clothes you get lost and your school leaves without you-you will be stuck there until the
call a roll or something and notice that your not hear,
they realize that they have left you behind.……
same clothes you get lost and your school leaves without you-you will be stuck there until the
call a roll or something and notice that your not hear,
they realize that they have left you behind.……
What’s more important is, If you are wearing a school uniform 5 days a week it would be less
washing to do if you don’t get it that dirty,
because if you wear different clothes each day that would be lots of washing to do...
washing to do if you don’t get it that dirty,
because if you wear different clothes each day that would be lots of washing to do...
For example, You come home with really dirty clothes each day then that would be lots of washing to do, but if you are wearing a uniform and not getting it that dirty then you or your mum would only have to wash it on Friday afternoon, then it would be dry and clean for Monday. If you want to wear the same clothes every day and it’s not a uniform then you or your mum would have to wash it, get it dry, and reading for the next day
Finally if you just wear school uniform you can get out of bed and get your uniform on, but if schools don’t wear uniform you could spend lots of time looking for clothes and then by the time you are ready you’re late for school and you don’t have that nice clothes on, like they could be dirty and they could smell bad, then it will stink out the classroom.
For example, you get up and your school uniform is dry, clean, and lying on your bed, you put it on, have breakfast, and go to school. You get up, start looking for clothes, you check the time then you are in are rush so you pick up some clothes of the ground, put them on, have breakfast, and go to school. By the time you get to school you’re late, you’re dirty and the classroom stinks. …….
As you can see by what I have written here, that all schools should wear uniform. 52 people said yes to wearing uniform and 49 people said no to wearing uniform

Chapter Chat week 3
This is my week 3 chapter chat that I did myself and this is what I made. The activity was research about dyslexia. We are reading a book could fish in a tree and the main character Ally has dyslexia. She has trouble reading and writing. In one part of the book, Allys old teacher made her write a story and her teacher didn't want to hear from her until she was finished, but since Ally can't write she didn't do it. She has this book could Alice in Wonderland and when she was little she got her grandpa to read it to her because she can't read.

CC week 2 Vocabulary
This is my week 2 Chapter Chat. It is vocabulary. The hardest part was writing it in and the easiest part was getting the boxes to write in. I started off by putting a box in the corner and putting the words in it. Then I made a box and I would put a word in it and research about that word. Then I would get the information and put in in the box. Then I keep on doing that

Title: The Thames mountain bike track.
|
Description:
I am going to reconsider the Thames bike track that I did in the holidays. |
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I rated it 4 out of 5 stars because I reckon it wasn’t long enough.
|
What I liked and why: I liked the downhills and the jumps at the start.
I liked it because I like going downhill really fast and I like jumping jumps, and getting lots of air. I like how it had some sharp veers to go around. I liked that at the start of the track there are two little bike tracks that you could warm up on. You could function your turns and jumps. It’s like a pump track. |
What I disliked and why:
The subjects I despised about it was that it wasn’t long enough and I reckon they should add more jumps into it when you are going down. I didn’t like at the carpark to get up to the start of the track you have to climb a big hill on your bike. I think that they should let you drive up to the start of the track and make the track so that it ends up back where you placed your car. |
Who else might enjoy this:
Anyone that likes mountain biking, doing jumps, going throughout sharp corners, and going fast.

This is my book buzz with Bill Wiltshire and Ben's Dad about selling the bay. The hardest part was doing the battery and the easiest part was writing all the words. I made it on google drawing. I started by changing the background to white and making it smaller. Then I started to put in the chat things. After that, I did the writing and put it on my blog.
