This week we shared our 5 in the Hive. In my bag, I put a cricket ball because I like cricket, I drew a rugby ball cause I like rugby. I put a shogun shell in it because I like hunting, I put a fish hook in it cause I like fishing, and I put a photo of my family because they are special to me.
My name is Hayden, this year I am a year 6. My homeroom is Knowledge Seekers. I am 10 years old. I like going outside and playing lots of sports.

Hunting and Fishing comp
Hunting and Fishing comp
On the weekends I did hunting and fishing comp. On the first day which was Saturday, I went rabbit shooting. when we got there I got on the motorbike and went looking. The first rabbit I found I took the shot but the gun didn't fire. Then we went to another place and I shot 2 rabbits there. After that I didn't get any, so we went home. The next day we went possum hunting. We took the dog with us and when we got there and into the bush the dog chased one up the tree. I took the shot and got it. Then we went looking around. After about 30 minutes of looking, we found one again and Ryan shot that one. It took 4 shots to get it out of the tree. When it came down we went and got it. When we got it we went to the way in. We didn't get a prize for the biggest but we did get a spot prize.

Letter to my family
Dear Brent, Rachel, Chloe, and Ryan.
This term in Whetu we have been doing a bee them. We don't have names for our spaces yet but we are going to have some names. One the first week of school we colored in names for our tote tray. One the second day of school we got the teachers to take photos of us to put on a bee for moving our names across in the morning. We are doing a hive activity were you draw symbols into it that represent you. There are tricky things, my heritage, sports and clubs, passions and talents, your name, favorites, and your family. When you finish that we put all of them to together and make one big hive.

Knowledge Seekers Logo
I made this logo for the Knowledge Seekers. The hardest part was doing the stars doing 1 at a time, the easiest part was writing Knowledge Seekers. I did red for the Knowledge Seekers to make it stand out more, I did yellow for the stars because that's what stars a normally like. The K S stands for Knowledge Seekers, I did it in blue because it makes it stand out and because it is my favorite color.

My art week 2 in Whetu
On the second week of Whetu, we started doing our art in homerooms. Our art is that we have some squares, in the squares, you color them in with pastels. When you have colored them in you get a stick with a sharp end and then you draw the pictures that represent you onto the pastel. When you have done all your symbols you do the black lines in a black pastel so it is easier to see. Once you have done the black lines you paint the symbols that you draw in black. When you are painting them you have to make sure that you can't see any of the colors of the pastel. When you have finished painting you let it dry and then you are done.

I chose this one because if you want to be a leader you have to show respect. If you don't show respect you won't get to be a leader. If you get to be a leader the more you respect others the more respect you will. The more you respect others the more friends you will get.

The first week in Whetu
The first week in Whetu was good for me. I am a year 6 in the Knowledge seekers. On the first day of school I left at 1:30 to go to a cricket training with the Blackcaps. On the second day of school, I did a name for my tote tray. In Whetu we are doing a bee theme so for our names are bees. On the 3 third, we did some outdoor water activities. One that day we didn't do much other than swimming and some learning. On the fourth day, we started doing art. I did blocks with symbols that represent you and that was my first week in Whetu.
