Week 1 Term 3 CC

This week I did a creation station with Patrick. We work together to make a Camp Green Lake sign from the book that we are reading, holes. This part relates to the because when Stanley Yelnats the main character comes to camp green lake because he stole a pair of shoes. Camp green lake isn't green and there is no lake. Bad kids get sent there. Stanley had the choice of going to Camp Green Lake or jail, so he chose Camp Green lake and said. "Well, at least I get to swim in the lake." But there is no lake. So he got on the bus and went to camp green lake. When he got there there was a sign saying. "You are entering Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correctional Facility." So that is were me and Patrick did the sign from. Patrick brought a big cardboard box so we could cut out and use the cardboard. First, we cut out the square for the background. Second, we got some brown and white paint, mixed them together and got a really light brown for dead grass and desert. Then we got some normal brown and pantied the trunk of the two oak trees. When we finished doing the trunk we got some green and did the leaves. We waited for that to dry then we got out some blue and white paint, mixed them together and got a light blue for the sky. When the sky dried we painted a little hammock in between the two oak trees. We also painted the sun. With the leftover cardboard, we cut up some little pieces to make the sign. Patrick hot glued the pieces together and then we painted the sign brown. With some little pieces of string, we hot glued them onto the cardboard and then we put the sign onto the background. When the sign was on the background Patrick wrote on it "You are entering Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correctional Facility." After the sign was done we were finished and that was how we made our sign.
